Hackney Volunteers
​​Welcome to the Hackney volunteer team! Our Volunteers are invaluable members of the Club, whose passion and enthusiasm makes Hackney RFC such a welcoming and fun community.
​
Everyone is welcome and don't worry, we will help you develop any skills, from coaching qualifications, tech skills and of course the beautiful game of rugby. If curious, it starts with a simple chat.

There are many ways to volunteers at the club. From Rugby Coach, Team Manager, Committee Membership, Communications to Fundraising and many more...
Prior to starting as a volunteer, please follow the below process:
1) Chat with an existing coach or committee member
2) ​​Complete the below Volunteer Form​

3) ​Register / log onto the RFU GMS. You will need your email & password for your GMS login. Scroll down to 'Find a course' and complete the following two required courses.

3a) ​e-learning module Safeguarding

​3b) e-learning module Headcase concussion awareness
4)​ Once the above is all complete, email our Safeguarding Officer (Mary Impey) on safeguarding@hackneyrfc.co.uk. Only when the above is completed, can we email you a link for the DBS check

5) The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) performs criminal records checks and connects electronically to your GMS account. Our Safeguarding Officer will be in touch about this. ​The £6 DBS charge will be refunded by the Club. Email Chris Dominy on treasurer@hackneyrfc.co.uk

6) When the DBS is completed, you can start in your Volunteer Role. If a coach, you can order and collect your Coach kit
