How To Sponsor Us

Club day 2_edited.jpg

Hackney Rugby Club stands as a unique symbol of inclusivity, welcoming individuals of all backgrounds, especially supporting black and LGBTQ+ players within our community. We are a volunteer led rugby club and charity making a big difference to the physical and mental well-being of our community. Our aim is to be the most inclusive and diverse rugby club in the UK, providing a safe place for adults and children of all abilities, genders, sexualities, ethnicities and backgrounds to come together in sport.

Your sponsorship will help us to achieve and fund activities including;

• Bursaries to make rugby affordable for all players.

• Facilities and support to provide a safe space for all players

• Mental health initiatives for our players and club members

• Events to recruit and welcome new players from all parts of our community.

• Community Outreach Programme; rugby coaching in schools to inspire kids to engage in sport

Sponsoring our club will help you by enhancing your Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Social and Governance policies. It will also introduce your brand to thousands of players, parents, teachers, volunteers and spectators living and working in Hackney and the City that engage with us via our social media, newsletters and at Spring Hill.

We have been a part of the local community since 1963. Founded by pupils of Woodberry Down Comprehensive (now Skinners’ Academy) our goal is to be the most inclusive rugby club in the UK.

The women’s team was founded in 2009 by a group of friends who were unable to find another women’s rugby team in the local area and has been growing ever since.  We are proud to host 2 women’s teams in the Gladies that play in NC3 and Championship South East 2 and were proud runners up in the Papa John Community Junior Cup in 2023.

We hold an annual fundraising 10’s tournament which raises money towards our fund to provide financial help to our adult players to access rugby. This tournament saw Black Girls Ruck, the first ever all black women’s rugby team play at Spring Hill and we’re proud to support our members’ endeavors to promote diversity in rugby nationally.

We also have 3 men’s teams and junior teams for 200 local kids of all ages from U6 through to Colts U18.

Your sponsorship will help build a sustainable foundation for rugby in Hackney, one of London’s most disadvantaged boroughs. As a grassroots community based club, we rely on donations and sponsorship and player subscriptions to keep us going.
